NorthStar is presently looking to hire a talented Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Falls Church, Virginia! This is a Full – Time opportunity at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
The Regional Pain Medicine NP will be responsible for diagnosing care, and treat adult patients who present with chronic pain problems in a private hospital setting. The NP will work both autonomously and in a collaboration with the program's physician and staff to manage these patients. The NP will teach and counsel the patient and family regarding them medical diagnosis and treatment. The NP will work collaboratively work with all members of the program, including family, staff and the physician, to ensure continuity of care of the patient.

The NP Duties: The NP will obtain health histories and perform physician examinations with timely appropriate documentation. The NP will perform the following:
- Round on inpatients with regional block catheters:
- Round on patients with epidural catheters
- Assessment and evaluation of initial consult patients; rounding on consult patients
- Assistance to anesthesiologist in placing regional blocks in ICU and other settings
- Position patient with help of ICU staff
- Placement of dressing
- Monitor for Local Anesthetic Toxicity
- Provide reassurance and discussing plan of care
- Coordinating with surgical service for a pain management plan of care for pre-op, intra-op and post op pain control.

Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., but can be flexible.
One year experience preferred.
